The Benson/San Pedro Valley Chamber of Commerce is proud to present Butterfield Overland Stage Days commemorating the 152nd anniversary of the running of the Butterfield Overland Stagecoach. This year's event promises to be even better then last year's.

Pony Express

This year's Butterfield Days will include a reenactment of the Pony Express which will actually carry the mail from Benson, AZ to Dragoon Station, AZ (map of the route). To make this part of the celebration special, the Benson Post Office will cancel any mail that is brought to the on-site post office prior to 10:00am on October 9, 2010, with a commemorative stamp (last year's cancellation stamp). The Benson/San Pedro Valley Chamber of Commerce will be selling special commemorative stamped envelopes at the event so be sure to pick one up (last year's stamp).

Buffalo Soldiers

The Buffalo Soldiers served the Southwest from 1866 until 1890. The participated in a variety of Indian campaigns and earned a distinguished record. The local chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Reenactors will have an encampment where they will answer questions and provide a taste of what is was like to be a Buffalo Soldier.

We will also feature entertainment, a car show, parade, a kids area and other interesting activities. Check back for updated information. 

Vendors

Vendors are an integral part of our festival and we greatly appreciate their participation. Previous year's vendors commented on how well the event was run and would like to return this year. In an effort to avoide disapointment we encourage vendors to register as soon as possible to ensure a space.
